I wanted to reflect on my previous $WLD views and give an update: Worldcoin is not getting much attention on the 'UBI' side, a concept that is increasing. AI = the cancer Worldcoin = chemotherapy Most of the internet ‘died’ after 2016 as most of the engagements are bots. It’s getting worse now with AI. Real vs fake is the biggest problem AI faces right now. The only way to secure somebody is real is trough biometric data = Worldcoin. Obviously this creates a situation of people not willing to give their data. This is why they started with pilots in 3rd world countries: if they get 30 bucks for scanning their eyes, it’s like a 3 months salary for most. They are easy to convince and it seems like that pilot is finished. The 2nd part is trying to convince EU / USA ppl to scan their eyeballs. Obviously, this is much more difficult as most people will not take ‘’the jab’’ for 30 bucks. The only way you can incentivise these people is if you pump the price of the token or introduce the concept of UBI (which they already did in the past). UBI is offered as the solution of another problem in AI: AI taking over jobs --> high unemployement --> UBI = solution I’m not sure which one will happen first but I can imagine that both are correlated with each other: the concept of UBI is something that should be done on blockchain. You cannot airdrop/send money universally at such a scale when people are on different banks using SWIFT, that’s just an outdated thing. It makes sense that the concept of UBI gets popular in crypto and Worldcoin is the leader in that. Especially as AI is considered as the cause of the problem. Corona has shown that people are willing to fight with each other when there are different groups that gets entitlement: people who took the jab can travel and do their thing while people who didn’t comply get scolded by the ones that actually did it. It creates an us vs them situation. This is lowkey kind of similar as people who scan their eyeballs get universal basic income while the ones who don’t comply get nothing. The social pressure increases if this gets to fruition which is not the case rn. It’s a brilliant way of introducing UBI as the coins are minted out of thin air and you can control people with it. Worldcoin is one of the most used rollapps, if not the most used one right now (the stats don’t lie). The numbers are increasing. Hated by crypto natives (‘evil centralised company’) / not known by most normies yet: it's at an interesting spot.
